Dick Schulz – Blue Sky Aerosports

For nearly 30 years and 10,000 hours, Dick has found his calling in the cockpit of numerous military and civilian aircraft. After graduating from the University of North Dakota's school of Business as well as their prestigious Flight Department, he earned his wings in the service as a U.S. Navy Pilot and later attended Naval Post Graduate School to become an Aviation Safety Officer.

Dick used his military training as a springboard for tackling hard core aerobatics. While competing nationally in the top tier of Advanced pilots, he decided to supplement his aerobatic education by ultimately earning the titles of both a National and Chief Judge. It wasn't long before he became an established aerobatic coach refining the skills of U.S. Advanced World Team members. His work as a coach and judge eventually resulted in national recognition. Dick was presented the prestigious Harold E. Neumann Award for chief judging excellence, a trophy which is on permanent display at EAA headquarters in Oshkosh, WI.

Equipped with the practical experience and thorough understanding of exactly what produces a thrilling show performance, Dick flies aerobatic demonstrations that utilize innovation and imagination to make each presentation as fresh and original as possible. These are the same traits that dictate not just the flight performances of Blue Sky's pilots, but our business and marketing strategies as well.

Dick designed and developed the corporate management structure at Blue Sky Aerosports to capitalize on the staff's experience, knowledge and strengths. His priorities focus on smoothly integrating creative marketing campaigns with effective promotional techniques for sponsorship and property alliances that are second to none.

Spencer Suderman – Spencer Suderman Airshows / Blue Sky Aerosports

Airplane: METEOR Pitts S-2B
Power: Lycoming IO-540 260 HP
Propeller: MT Composite
Top Speed: 210 mph
Maximum G's: +6/-3

Coolest Maneuvers: Inverted Flat Spin, Lomcevak, Double Hammerhead, Torque Roll, Avalanche, Tail Slide

Spencer Suderman began his flying career while working on his Bachelor of Science degree in business at California State University Northridge in the late 1980's. Spencer earned a private pilot's certificate, commercial rating, instrument rating, and then became a CFI (Certified Flight Instructor).

While working on his instrument rating, he went through a spin and unusual attitude training program. This training teaches pilots what to do in emergencies and involves mild aerobatics. Spencer soon discovered that aerobatics are amazingly fun and quickly lost interest in merely flying straight and level. After attending numerous aerobatic contests in the Super Decathlon Spencer moved up to the high performance Pitts S-2B which he now flies in air shows.

Spencer's air show performance uniquely showcases the capabilities of the Pitts Biplane with Intense gyroscopic maneuvers that will have the crowd gasping in awe as they witness the Inverted Flat Spin with its signature corkscrew smoke trail as the plane drops at a rate of 6000 feet per minute!

The incredible Double Hammerhead, a feat so difficult that only a handful of pilots have even attempted it in public--Spencer makes it look easy as the Pitts spins like a pinwheel suspended in the sky!

Performing the unbelievable, Spencer will fly the Pitts backwards during the Torque Roll and Tailslide!
