Scheyden Precision Eyewear Debuts New Golf-Specific Eyewear Frame at 2019 PGA Merchandise Show
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Scheyden Precision Eyewear Debuts New Golf-Specific Eyewear Frame at 2019 PGA Merchandise Show
ORLANDO, FL (Jan. 24, 2019) – Scheyden Precision Eyewear showcases their new golf-specific frames, the ‘Confidence In Action,’ or “CIA,” at the 2019 PGA Merchandise Show.
The “CIA,” first unveiled at Demo Day, is creating quite the buzz with interest and feedback that has been overwhelmingly positive. In fact, multiple Champions Tour players have even stopped by the Scheyden booth (#1843) to pick up a pair of what can be considered the finest optical frame and lens combination at this year’s show. CIA sales thus far at the PGA Show have been tremendous, only adding to the growing popularity of the brands first-ever sunglass designed for the discerning golfer.
Scheyden has brought to the forefront a golf-specific frame and lens combination with a level of quality that has not yet been seen in the industry. Many that have played a round using the sunglasses are blown away by the optical clarity and tinted lenses that actually accentuate one’s read of the greens.
Jeff Herold, pilot, golfer, and CEO of West Coast Trends, Inc. (and maker Club Glove) explains, “Our goal here at Scheyden Eyewear is not to simply impress those who regularly wear sunglasses on the golf course, but furthermore, to impress those that have never been able to wear sunglasses during a round of golf. If you take note of the PGA Tour, the overwhelming majority of players never wear sunglasses, primarily because they believe it somehow hinders their game. If we can bring to market a product that will not only protect a player’s eyes, but actually enhance their ability to see and play with confidence, then we have hit a grand slam home run.”
The golf-specific ‘CIA’ is handmade in Japan and features a feather-light, incredibly strong, titanium frame with a high definition, dye infused, LT33 polyamide lens. The lens is a decentered eight base, 33% Light Transmission wrap. This lens that actually appears to brighten and sharpen your vision on the golf course yet still provides 100% UVA and UVB 400nm protection. The LT33 lenses are top drill mounted eliminating 60% of the lower frame and allowing for an unobstructed view while addressing the ball. The frame also includes adjustable, oversized, soft, tacky, silicone nose pads that will keep the frames comfortably in place during the most powerful of golf swings.

Can't Wear Sunglasses For Golf...Scheyden Eyewear May Have The Answer
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (July 5, 2018) – Scheyden Eyewear, known as the finest eyewear in General Aviation, carries its quality, comfort, and function into the golf industry with its latest product release. The 'Confidence In Action,' or the "CIA," golf-specific sunglasses are expected to officially launch in late July.
Scheyden, a supplier to the United States Air Force Thunderbird Team, focuses on activities that require the highest quality in terms of comfort, function, and lens clarity. A complete round of golf can be very similar to a pilot flying a 4 or 5-hour mission. Fatigue is always a factor during a long day of intense focus and concentration. Scheyden has brought to the forefront a “golf-specific” frame and lens combination with a level of quality that has not yet been seen in the industry.
Jeff Herold, pilot, golfer, and CEO of West Coast Trends, Inc. explains, “Our goal here at Scheyden Eyewear is not to simply impress those who regularly wear sunglasses on the golf course, but furthermore, to impress those that have never been able to wear sunglasses during a round of golf. If you take note of the PGA Tour, more than half of the players never wear sunglasses, primarily because they believe it somehow hinders their game.
Herold adds, “When blending dyes to colorize the tint on any lens one must consider the reaction that the ‘visible light spectrum’ has on the human brain. After several attempts in blending the dyes, we feel we have found the perfect sweet spot within the visible light spectrum that will create the perfect contrast and color for the game of golf. This sweet spot will allow the player to put the Scheyden CIA’s on and keep them on during the entire round, including while performing shots in the shade of a tree.” A “sensitive eyes” slightly darker lens within the same light spectrum is on the horizon.”

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA – Scheyden Precision Eyewear – the leader in general aviation eyewear and the organizer of the Flying Aviation Expo in Palm Springs, CA – has decided to put the event on “line up and wait” until further clearance, while exploring new opportunities with AOPA’s regional events.
After three wonderful years amid the picturesque, sun-filled backdrop of the Coachella Valley in Palm Springs, the Aviation Expo is on hold until further notice. The needed participation and sponsorship investments are not quite where they need to be to sustain the show at this time. The 2016 show that was moved to the Palm Springs International Airport was a beautifully run event that still has tremendous potential for the future of aviation events in the Western region.
Jeff and Vivienne Herold, owners of Scheyden Eyewear, took over the third annual show in an attempt to resurrect a grand aviation event in Palm Springs. It was the only one of its kind held in the fall season and on the West Coast, that so many pilots were familiar with during the AOPA Summit days. Along with Andrea Berry, their show director, they experienced three wonderful days that included brilliant speakers, the latest in modern aircraft, and to top it all off some of the best parties that the aviation industry has ever experienced.
“Most of us know that to have a successful aviation event, we must get the heavyweight leaders in the industry to participate,” said Jeff Herold, CEO. “After many positive and constructive conversations with the highest ranking officers of AOPA, we have decided to explore opportunities with some of their regional events, all the while knowing that Palm Springs is ready and waiting for that wonderful three-day event to potentially return in the future. We will always have the support of Flying magazine and so many of the other aviation industry speakers and exhibitors, should this event move to the forefront again.”
“What Jeff and the whole Aviation Expo team accomplished with the show at the Palm Springs Airport this past fall was incredible,” said Stephen Pope, Flying Editor-in-Chief. “West Coast pilots deserve a world-class aviation event like this one, and Flying remains committed to supporting the show in every way we can if and when it returns to Palm Springs, or in whatever form it takes in the future.”
The growth of general aviation is the foundation for all of the aforementioned events, and the Aviation Expo in Palm Springs is no different. It’s a chance for the fraternity of pilots in the Western region to socialize, continue education, and engage with manufacturers and their latest technology. The Aviation Expo would like to thank its previous volunteers, exhibitors, sponsors, contractors, the city of Palm Springs, Palm Springs resorts and hotels, Tom Nolan and his team at the Palm Springs International Airport and all those that played a role in helping put on this prestigious aviation event- the support is a grand gesture for the growth and passion of general aviation.
